Remote Diagnostics

For customers with the EKE-Trainnet® Train Control and Management System (TCMS), we offer SmartVision™ Remote Diagnostics.

Collect and analyse data from the EKE-Trainnet® Train Control and Management System to understand fleet status and make data-driven decisions regarding operations and maintenance based on actionable information.

SmartVision™ Remote Diagnostics Key Features

Explore the key features of SmartVision™ for fleet management with EKE-Trainnet® TCMS. Our system provides a set of tools designed to support improved operational efficiency.

Fleet overview

Our fleet overview provides real-time insights into the health and status of your entire fleet, enabling quick reactions when problems occur. With features like detailed event logs, active event monitoring, and customisable dashboards, you can effortlessly track and manage your fleet’s operations.

Train specific information

Detailed information about specific trains is provided, allowing users to access comprehensive data on train operations and health status.

The Train Overview provides insights into active events, event history logs, and quantitative information about alarms, warnings, and indicators. Users can also view real-time situational data, such as speed and destination, when the train is online.

Events

The SmartVision™ system features a robust event management capability that provides comprehensive visibility into events recorded by the EKE-Trainnet® TCMS. There are two event categories:

  • Active Events displays real-time occurrences for a selected train, enabling prompt awareness of ongoing issues.
  • The Event Log maintains a detailed history of past events, supporting analysis and troubleshooting.

Events also include “Environmental data” at the time of occurrence.

Actionable information

The system is able to provide actionable information, giving operational and maintenance teams additional information about the next steps to take based on the event identified. These actions are set by the customer according to their internal process.

Event analysis

Advanced event analysis tools enhance train operation monitoring. Users can select specific time windows, chart types, and data filters to visualise and interpret event data efficiently. The system offers various chart options, including filtering by subsystem and event type, and heatmap visualisations, allowing users to identify patterns and clusters of events. Interactive charts enable in-depth investigation by clicking on data points, while export functionality supports further analysis.

Users can filter and navigate event data, analyse signal trends, and visualise key insights to detect operational patterns. These capabilities help optimise train performance and ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency in fleet management.

Driver's display

A driver’s display feature that provides real-time information for train operators can be incorporated into SmartVision™.

When the train is connected to SmartVision™, the driver’s display mirrors the Human-Machine Interface (HMI) used by the driver’s display, offering a comprehensive view of the train’s status and operations. This feature allows operators to monitor various aspects of the train, including speed, destination, and module health indicators.

The driver’s display is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, ensuring that operators can easily navigate through the information without affecting the state of the train.

Secure user management

Secure user management is prioritised to ensure the integrity and safety of fleet operations. The system allows administrators to provision and manage user accounts with verified email addresses, ensuring that only authorised personnel have access. Users can be set up directly within the SmartVision system or using an existing customer user management system, providing flexibility in access management.

The system’s user rights and groups management ensure that each user has the appropriate level of access and permissions, maintaining a secure and efficient operational environment. User roles are carefully restricted, preventing conflicts such as an Editor being assigned as an Approver or Deployer.

SmartVision™ Maintenance tool
The SmartVision™ Maintenance tool enhances the depot work by deepening understanding of the train state, simplifying the software update workflow and helping with the verification of the train configuration:

  • Functional without an internet connection while enforcing cybersecurity through centralised user management.
  • Insight into the train events and state through a familiar user experience with the Cloud-based SmartVision™.
  • Better understanding for troubleshooting through real-time module signals and statistics.
  • Tools for investigating the train topology and module information, for example, device locations, module health statuses and hardware versions.
  • Clear user interface for managing software updates, giving an understanding of the whole train software statuses, and granular control for verifying new engineering versions or activating new production releases.
  • Functionality for verifying the train configuration by allowing the simulation of in-service situations and controlling signals, e.g.,
    • simulating station approaches and open door signals safely,
    • controlling all PEA handles from one car,
    • running predefined multi-phase test routines with a single click.
Why Choose EKE-Electronics for Remote Diagnostics?

SmartVision™ Remote Diagnostics allows you to quickly and easily extract event and time-series data from the EKE-Trainnet® Train Control and Management System to monitor the health of the train and its subsystems.

Open data policy

EKE’s open data policy is designed to provide seamless access to measured data via the SmartVision™ user interface. This approach allows users to effortlessly view and interact with data, enhancing their ability to make informed decisions.

Secure update management

Our Train Software Management System offers a secure way to manage, transfer and activate updates to your EKE-Trainnet® equipment.

The packages are automatically transferred to the entire fleet while the train is at the depot, with users notified when the transfers are complete, allowing them to focus on other tasks.

The Train Software Management System provides a high level of granularity both for user and package (version) management.
