Queensland Rail extends its SmartVision SaaS contract with EKE-Electronics

We are thrilled to announce that Queensland Rail has chosen to extend its SmartVision SaaS contract with EKE-Electronics for an additional 2 years, starting from August 2023.

Since August 2020, Queensland Rail has been utilising EKE-Electronics’ SmartVision system for real-time remote diagnostics in their Diesel Tilting Trains operating between Brisbane and Cairns. This enables them to remotely review the status of their trains, view their Captain’s displays and inspect analogue signals collected in their trains. This innovative solution has not only improved their response times but also provided valuable insights for optimising their maintenance process. We are proud to share the words of their Reliability Improvement Manager, Todd Dixon:

SmartVision has given the maintenance team the ability to condition monitor equipment operating on-track through live uploading of analogue and digital signal data provided through our Captain’s Display and Webtip. The analysis tab provides the fundamentals required for maintenance planning by determining reliability concerns so that we can continue to provide a world-class service for passengers. Its design is user-friendly and makes reporting on event fault data effective to highlight areas of concern to improve upon. SmartVision for us has cost-effectively removed the need for on-board service technicians.

We are delighted to receive such positive feedback. At EKE-Electronics, we strive to deliver cutting-edge technology with a user-friendly interface, empowering our clients to optimise their maintenance processes and improve operational efficiency. This endorsement is a testament to the impact SmartVision has had on their operations. Our dedicated team designed and installed the on-train monitoring system, ensuring seamless integration and ease of use for the end user. It is truly gratifying to see the positive impact SmartVision has had on Queensland Rail’s operations.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the entire team at Queensland Rail for their continued support and collaboration. Together, we are transforming the railway industry, one innovation at a time.
